Shih tzu Character

Because the Shih Tzu is solely bred to serve as a companion and house pet, it is especially important for their
temperament to be cheerful, affectionate, outgoing, and trusting towards everyone. Shih- tzu are spunky and
full of spirit, and possess good character. They are naturally very dignified, and they sometimes have
 a tendency to appear arrogant. Shih tzu are gentle and kind, and they get along well with polite, careful children.

Shih tzu breed likes to bark outside, but they are usually quiet in the house. If surprised, teased, or pestered, the
Shih tzu may have a tendency to snap. The Shih Tzu Dog is a companion pet and needs lots of interaction with people.

Poodle Character

The Toy Poodle is a cheerful and intelligent dog. The Poodle breed is very easily trained and responds well to training. Poodles are often wary around strangers but if they have good socialization at an early age it is not a problem.

Poodles can be very sensitive and startled easily, so they are not good around young or rough children. 
However, the Poodle breed dog does well with older children. The Poodle breed like dogs and other animals.

Some Toy Poodles are anxious and apprehensive, especially if not appropriately socialized.

Shih-Poo Temperament

The Shih-poo is loyal, loving, and affectionate. Shih poo are not recommended for homes with small children.

Shih poo do well with dogs and non-canine pets they have been raised with. Shih poo do not do well if ignored or
left alone for extended periods of time. Boredom or loneliness will lead to destructive behavior and incessant
barking. Shih poo are out going but very wary of strangers. Shih-poo's are quick to alert their 
family to visitors and out of the ordinary sounds.

Shih-poo Puppy Care
The Shih-poo requires frequent brushing to prevent matting and tangling and occasional professional grooming.

Bathing should be done when necessary. It is important to regularly clean the ears of debris and hair to prevent
infection. The Shih-poo's have a low tolerance to extreme heat and cold. Dental hygiene is important to prevent
early tooth loss. 
The coat of the Shih-poo may be long, straight, curly; or a combination.

Shih-poo puppy Training
Early socialization and obedience are recommended. Crate training method works best. Shih poo puppies will not respond to harsh or heavy-handed methods. Training must be done with firmness, fairness, patience, and consistency.
